A VENUE is celebrating the arts, with two exciting ballet-themed events this week.
Tomorrow night, The Drill Hall in Chepstow, will screen Degas: Passion for Perfection, taking guests on a journey from Cambridge’s Fitzwilliam Museum, which houses the UK’s most extensive Edgar Degas collection, to Paris and Italy where the artist taught himself to paint.
It will be shown at 7.30pm tonight, offering unique insight into the life of Degas, well-known for his captivating paintings of ballet dancers.
Tickets are £10, with details of booking below.
On Sunday, the same venue will show a live broadcast of one of the oldest surviving romantic ballets, La Sylphid.
This beautiful, world class ballet is being performed by the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow, on November 11, with the live broadcast available at The Drill Hall, from 3pm.
Tickets are £12 in full, or £10 concessions, with money from the live broadcast supporting Monmouthshire Museums.
To book your place, phone Chepstow Museum, on: 01291 625981.
