LOS Amigos are bringing the spirit of the Strummercamp festival on tour to York on November 24 for a fundraising event at the Fulford Arms, Fulford Road, from 3pm until 2am

Strummercamp is held on the outskirts of Manchester each late May Bank Holiday weekend as a not-for-profit festival, run by volunteers, with the aim of capturing the ethos of The Clash’s late frontman, Joe Strummer. Each year people gather as kindred spirits to enjoy three days of music, arts, and community while being entertained by old and new bands at a festival billed as "A Riot Of Our Own".

On November 24, an eclectic mix of musicians is promised, mixing original music with old favourites, topped by York’s own Clash City Rockers appearing with their own take on The Clash. Los Pist Ups will play The Sex Pistols' Never Mind The B****cks and on the bill too will be The Nortrhern Embezzlers, The Lone Groover, Dirty Davey; Standing In For Joe and Ambience By Gadge.

Tickets cost £8 for the full day via thefulfordarms.com/november.html or on the door, if still available. The 13th Strummercamp will take place next May.  “Go easy, step lightly, stay free,” as Strummer advised on 1978’s Give ‘Em Enough Rope.
