A WOMAN has been taken to hospital for treatment following a house fire in Newport last night.
South Wales Fire service sent three crews to the property on Gainsborough Drive, in St Julians, at 7pm.
The woman was treated by paramedics at the scene, before being taken to Royal Gwent Hospital, said a fire service spokeswoman.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
An investigation will take place later today.
