POLICE have put out an appeal after a man has his head stamped on repeatedly by an attacker "with a Polish accent".
The attack happened at 3am outside Ted's Newsagents on Foundary Bridge, Abertillery, on Saturday December 22, 2018.
The 24-year-old victim was approached by an unknown man with brown hair who hit him to the face, according to police.
After falling to the floor, the victim told police his attacker "repeatedly stamped on his head", resulting in a trip to hospital with concussion and swelling to the head.
A police spokesman said: "The victim described the offender as approximately 6ft tall with brown hair that spoke with a Polish accent.
"Following the incident, the victim has then made his way home and later attended Nevill Hall Hospital. Injuries included concussion, cuts, bruising and swelling to the head.
"Anyone with any information or anyone who may have witnessed the incident is urged to contact Gwent Police on 101 or Direct Message us on Facebook or Twitter, quoting log 245 of 23/12/18."
