BURNS week is coming to Newport, celebrating Scottish poet Robert Burns.
It will run from January 18 and conclude on January 25, with Wetherspoons celebrating by serving two special meals: Scottish haggis, neeps and tatties, as well as Caledonian Burger (6oz burger, haggis, whisky sauce, chips and six beer-battered onion rings).

Guests can also enjoy guest ale, Inveralmond Bard from Scotland’s Inveralmond Brewery in Perth, at: The John Wallace Linton on Cambrian Road, The Queen’s Hotel on Bridge Street and The Godfrey Morgan on Chepstow Road. The drink is described as full-bodied, with a sweet caramel flavour and Cascade hops.
The Godfrey Morgan manager, Rosie Morris, said: “Burns’ Week is always great fun and our customers enjoy that we celebrate for a week rather than just one day.”
