A FAMILY-FRIENDLY festival will return to the city soon, and there’s plenty of ways you can get involved.

Portstock 2019 is a festival held to raise funds and awareness for St David’s Hospice Care, which had a successful debut last year.

This year, it returns and plans to be bigger and better, trading Tredegar Park for Rodney Parade, with an amazing musical line-up.

Headlining the event, on June 22, for 2019, are hip-hop superstars Stereo MC’s and rhythm and blues act, Dr Feelgood.

Other confirmed bands on the bill are Rusty Shackle, Tom Hingley and the Karpets, The Darling Buds, The Ska Monkeys and Joe Kelly & the Royal Pharmacy.

Stallholders will be offering goods and services at Portstock 2019, with delicious delicacies on offer.

Last year, the festival hosted an enormous range of stalls, from Parc Pantry to Simply Scented, from Tiny Rebel to Poppadoms.

Similarly, the festival will incorporate fun and activities to keep little one’s amused on the big day.

There will, of course, be face painting and funfair rides to add to the excitement, but there’s always room for more.

Last year, there was story-telling and fun workshops for families to enjoy. If you want to run an activity, or help run the festival by volunteering to help with car parks, email: portstock@stdavidshospicecare.org or phone: 01633 851051.
