THIS helicopter from the Wales Air Ambulance sparked interest among passers-by when it landed in Tredegar Park, Newport, this morning, some of whom contacted the Argus to ask what was going on.
The helicopter was involved in an inter-hospital patient transfer - one of many carried out by the charity-funded service as part of its duties in Wales.
Police officers were at the scene to make sure no-one got too close to the helicopter during its landing and take-off in what is a public park.
Tredegar Park is used as a landing and transfer point if air ambulance patients need to be taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital, or if they need to be transferred from there to a specialist centre.
