A burst water main on High Street in Newport sent jets of water shooting into the air today.
Passers-by stopped to video the plumes of water which reached several feet above the street.
The burst main was repaired by engineers from Welsh Water.
A Welsh Water spokesperson said: “Our engineers have successfully repaired a burst water main on the High Street in Newport, which was caused by a broken stop tap.
“The water was contained during the repair and the burst did not impact on customers’ water supply.
“We want to thank our customers and businesses in the area for bearing with us while this repair was completed earlier this afternoon.”
