A NEW weather warning for snow and ice has been issued across Wales, with forecasters predicting disruption on Thursday.

As well as an earlier Met Office warning covering today and tomorrow, a new warning has now also been issued for Thursday and Friday.

And forecasters say Thursday may be the day to expect the most disruption, with up to 10cm of snow possible in places.

The newest warning, issued today, runs from Thursday afternoon through to early on Friday.

BBC meteorologist Matt Taylor said: "Thursday could bring significant snow disruption to a few areas. Great uncertainty at present over the dividing line between snow and rain areas, but parts of Wales and the Midlands are of particular interest."

The Met Office's chief forecaster said: "Rain and snow is expected to move in from the southwest, moving across England and Wales through Thursday into Friday.

"This is likely to fall as heavy rain at first across the far southwest of England, but as it meets the cold air established over the rest of the country snow becomes more likely."
