A DRIVER has suffered "potentially life-changing injuries" after crashing into a bus shelter on the A48.
Emergency services were called to the A48 near Mathern in Monmouthshire after the crash at around 11pm yesterday (Tuesday, January 29).
A red Vauxhall Corsa left the road a crashed into a bus shelter.
Police confirmed there were no other cars involved in the accident.
The driver, a man, suffered potentially life-changing injuries and was taken by ambulance for treatment at the Royal Gwent Hospital, added a Gwent Police spokesman.
While emergency service dealt with the incident, the A48 was closed between the High Beach roundabout and the St Pierre roundabout to allow for the vehicle to be recovered and crash investigations to begin.
