AN AWARD-WINNING production is returning to the stage soon, with a special twist.
Table 5, first performed in 2018 as a one-act play, will be performed at Dolman Theatre with a new second act added.
Join the cast at a wedding celebration, with tensions running high on Table 5 where daytime drinking dishes up drama.
When it was first staged, Table 5 was a hit, highly commended by the Gwent One-Act Festival adjudicator. It won the Drama Association of Wales prize for the ‘Best Original Script of 2018.’

Table 5 is written by Kevin Myers, who won Newport Playgoers Society’s first ever playwriting competition in 2010 with his one-act play Surviving The Century.
Mr Myers’ accomplishments include: writing and directing a musical, winning a song writing competition held by the Drama Association of Wales, and making it as a finalist in a national short story competition, to name a few.

Mr Myers said: “I originally conceived the piece as a technical exercise to see whether it could be done. Although the first half can stand alone – and has – a second act is a great way to learn more about the characters.
“When I write, the characters quickly take over the reins, and tend to dictate what happens in the end.
“It’s such an honour to have an original piece performed. I’ve also got the most fantastically talented cast, bringing so many layers to these characters. I think audiences are in for a treat!”
Table 5 is at Dolman Theatre, at 7.15pm, from February 12 to February 16. On the last day there is an additional 2.30pm performance.
Tickets are £12.50 or £8.50 concessions. They are available through: www.dolmantheatre.co.uk or by calling: 01633 263670.
