The police have confirmed the crash which closed two lanes of the M4 involved one vehicle which had crashed into central reservation.
The driver of the Ford Fiesta received minor injuries.
Here is the Gwent Police statement in full:
"At approximately 5.35am this morning we received reports of a one-vehicle road traffic collision on the M4 Westbound shortly after junction 28 for Tredegar Park.
"A blue Ford Fiesta had struck the central reservation, and its female driver suffered minor injuries.
"The road was partly closed, until fully reopening at 6.15am."

Traffic remains busy but there are no longer any significant queues at the junction.

All lanes have now been reopened at J28, although the usual morning rush hour traffic is building up.

Traffic monitors are showing two lanes closed on the M4 near Newport.
The accident happened at J28 Tredegar Park on the Westbound side of the carriageway at around 6am.
Lanes two and three were closed at the time of writing, although details of the accident are unclear.
Extra delays are possible in this area until the accident is cleared.
Emergency services have been contacted for more information.
