IT'S a huge night for Newport County AFC as they prepare for their Fourth Round replay with Middlesbrough.

A win tonight would set up a tie at home to Premier League champions Manchester City, and take County's earnings from this season’s FA Cup run over the £1million mark.

In his pre-match press conference this morning, Michael Flynn said that he expected there would be a "special atmosphere" at Rodney Parade tonight.

"The fans love the big occasion and they will get behind us," he said. "It’ll be a special atmosphere."

The ground is guaranteed to be rocking as the Teessiders come to town, with tickets selling out within a day of going on general sale.

A further 500 tickets became available yesterday after Boro failed to sell out their allocation, but these too were snapped up within five minutes of going on sale.

FA Cup win against Middlesbrough would guarantee Newport County £1.2m.

Riverside goal hero Matty Dolan hoping to help Newport County beat Middlesbrough tonight.

Andrew Penman: Win over Middlesbrough would make League Two worries worthwhile.

Former Middlesbrough youth player Matty Dolan was the hero at the Riverside, as he snatched a stoppage-time equaliser to bring Tony Pulis' side back to south Wales.

The midfielder is looking forward to testing himself against the seasoned internationals in Pep Guardiola's squad, but said the squad is solely focused on tonight's replay.

“The draw has set it up nicely. If we can get through it will be a massive occasion for the club,” he said.

“City is an incentive, but we’ve got to go out and do a job first.

“Obviously, it was good to come on and get the goal up there in front of my friends and family.

“The scenes at the end were brilliant and I think it’s what we deserved as well.

“The lads were fantastic on the day and I just came on and got the headlines.”

Michael Flynn's men will be looking to put their patchy league form behind them to continue their dream cup run, and should they make it past Boro, the club will have matched their best FA Cup run in their history - when they played Portsmouth in the Fifth Round 70 years ago.

The Exiles have already earned £647,000 from the FA prize fund, the new EFL progress prize and from broadcast fees after wins over Met Police, Wrexham and Leicester City.

And if they see off Tony Pulis’ side tonight, they will be guaranteed another £552,000 as the lone surviving League Two side and with the City tie to be shown live on BT Sport – just like tonight’s match.

That would make their total cup windfall around £1.2m, and that is before gate receipts and increased commercial revenue are taken into account.
