A TEENAGER was seriously injured in a collision with a car in Newport on Sunday (February 10).
The 14-year-old boy was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
The incident between the boy – a pedestrian – and the car happened on Balfe Road at around 5.35pm.
A portion of the road was closed while the emergency services attended the scene.

In a statement, a Gwent Police spokeswoman said: "At approximately 5.35pm on Sunday, February 10, Gwent Police were called to a road traffic collision on Balfe Road, Newport.
"The collision involved a grey Renault Kadjar and a pedestrian.
"The pedestrian, a 14 year old boy from the area, sustained serious injuries and was taken to UHW where he remains at this time.
"His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
"Spytty Road was closed between Alway Roundabout and Spytty Retail Park whilst officers dealt with the collision."
