A 76-year-old man has died following a collision on the Queensway in the centre of Newport last week.
On Friday, February 8, the road was closed by police due to what they referred to as a "serious road traffic collision".
The collision involved one vehicle and the driver was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Gwent Police said in a statement: "At approximately 12.30pm on Friday 8th February 2019, Gwent Police were called to a report of a serious road traffic collision on the Queensway, Newport.
"The collision involved a single vehicle, a black Vauxhall Corsa. The driver of the vehicle, the 76 year old man from the Caerphilly area, was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital where he was sadly pronounced deceased."
