Woman, 56, died after city centre bridge fall, police confirm
A WOMAN who fell from a bridge into the River Usk on Monday has died, Gwent Police confirmed.
The 56-year-old woman was pulled out of the river in Newport and taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A spokeswoman for Gwent Police said the woman's death was not being treated as suspicious, and her family had been informed.
Initial reports said the woman had been taken to hospital, but the South Wales Argus has since received confirmation from the police that the the woman has died.
