A BAND will be rocking out at the fabulous venue of an enormous castle soon.

English indie rock band The Zutons will be celebrating the 15th anniversary of their debut album, Who Killed…… the Zutons, at Caerphilly Castle on July 12.

The album, which spawned the hit singles Pressure Point, Remember Me, Confusion and You Will You Won’t, was first released in 2004 to critical acclaim, with BBC Music calling it “an ambitious but fully accomplished debut” and NME hailing it as “a fine debut that hints at a finer future”.

It garnered a Mercury Prize nomination and went on to sell more than 600,000 copies (Double Platinum) in the UK alone.

The indie rockstars spent eight years apart, before re-forming in 2016 for a one-off show.

In November 2018, the band announced their reunion tour to celebrate 15 years since their debut album, which takes them to Caerphilly Castle.

Zutons frontman Dave McCabe said: “We’ve all been off doing our own thing for a little while, and it’s only with hindsight and a bit of space that you see how special something really is.

“It’s easy to take things for granted when you’re younger, but now it’s just amazing to think of those songs still having a place in the world, and for people to come and hear us play them again.”

Tickets for this performance go on sale from 10am this Friday, February 15.

They can be ordered through ticketmaster.co.uk or locally at Blackwood Miners’ Institute or by calling 0844 844 0444.

The following day the venue will host Black Stone Cherry and special guests, but tickets for this are already sold out.
