A NEWPORT drug dealer is facing a prison sentence after he admitted supplying heroin in the city.
Louis Marshall, aged 22, was caught by police officers in the Corporation Road area near a playground last month.
The defendant appeared before Cardiff Crown Court to admit supplying a class A drug of diamorphine with intent on January 15.
Marshall was spotted by officers after they suspected him of being involved dealing while he was inside a Honda car and they followed him.
They saw him drop a package, turn around and pick up. It contained 13 balls of heroin.
A later search of his home uncovered £1,000 cash and a Canada Goose coat worth £600 was found.
He also admitted possessing a class B drug of cannabis on the same date.
The prosecutor in the case was Paul Hewitt and Marshall was represented by his barrister Julia Cox.
The defendant, of Malborough Road, Newport, appeared in court via video link from Cardiff Prison.
The Recorder of Cardiff, Judge Eleri Rees, adjourned the case for sentence which is due to take place on March 28.
The defendant was remanded in custody.
