A ROCK tribute act is celebrating more than 25 years of master forgery with their latest tour.

Hailed by Sir Mick Jagger as “the most famous Stones band in England,” The Counterfeit Stones – tribute to The Rolling Stones – are undergoing their Street Fighting Shame tour.

The show is essentially a mockumentary of the Rolling Stones’ colourful history. As well as perfect renditions of their greatest hit songs, the show includes a series of spoof film clips depicting real and imagined events.

The band formed in 1991 and have had hugely successful tours around the world, playing to audiences of up to 60,000 fans.

Not only have they thrilled sell-out crowds worldwide, they are regularly invited to play post tour parties, including for Oasis and Motorhead. They’ve supported the likes of Barry Manilow, Iggy Pop and ZZ Top plus attended posh dos, for Bill Clinton, Prince Edward and Sir Tim Rice.

The rockstars have even performed corporate bashes and - ironically - a function on board an aircraft carrier in San Diego for 6,000 lawyers attending a conference on counterfeiting.

The Counterfeit Stones’ tour includes a stop at The Met, in Abertillery, on Saturday, March 2, from 8pm.

Tickets are £20 in advance and £22.50 on the door. Call the box office on 01495 355945 or book online at www.the-met.co.uk
