A CELEBRATORY party to mark the end of refurbishment works at Maindee Library has taken place.
The library, in Newport, received more than £200,000 funding from the Arts Council of Wales three years ago to help it become “self-sustaining”.
Project manager, Jo Sutton, said: “We arranged this event because we have come to the end of three years of funding from the Arts Council of Wales.
“We want people to see what has been achieved in those three years.
“There are still little touches to be made but, on the whole, I am really pleased.
“We are now self-sustaining.”
The works have seen many changes in the library, including both a new kitchen and an ICT suite.
David Hando officially unveiled the new site and said: “It is a pleasure to be here. With the works finished, I am sure even more people will come here.”
Guests were also treated to a recording - called Parade - by John Rea.
