NEWPORT County AFC boss Michael Flynn, Valleys Gymnastics Academy and Pontypool United RFC were among the winners at last year's inaugural South Wales Argus Sports Awards.

And after the success of the 2018 event, the awards have returned and nominations for this year's prizes are open.

Chepstow Racecourse will host the 2019 ceremony on Wednesday, May 22, where the great and good of Gwent sport will be recognised.

So, if you know someone who deserves recognition for all their hard work in sport over the past 12 months then don't hesitate to put them forward for one of the 14 prizes up for grabs.

You can nominate the person, team or club who you think should be acknowledged for their efforts by visiting www.southwalesargus.co.uk/sportsawards.

The closing date for entries is Monday, March 18.

“Recognising and honouring the achievements of the countless outstanding contributions to sport is an honour for the South Wales Argus.

“The South Wales Argus are proud to recognise the outstanding contribution to sport from grassroots to professional level, and it is an honour to showcase this through the South Wales Argus Sports Awards of 2019.”
