NEWBRIDGE dance group KLA celebrated coming runners-up on the TV talent show The Greatest Dancer.

The girls, who are all aged between nine and 11-years-old, reached Saturday's final four, just losing out to the eventual winner Ellie.

The final was made up of two performances, with one act being sent home after the first dance, leaving the final three to dance again for the top prize.

Choreographer Amy Booth said that she was proud of the group, and praised the support of the group's Dance Captain and mentor Oti Mabuse.

"They were in total shock," she said. "Week three was really tough for them, so for them to reach the final was incredible.

"They were all so excited for the final, there were no nerves from them. They loved both of the dresses as well, so they really wanted to get through so they could wear them both.

"Oti was thrilled for the girls. From the beginning, they have shared the whole experience with each other.

"She was so supportive all the way through.

"The support we had from local dance groups, schools and businesses in the area was overwhelming. One butchers made a KLA burger, and a chip shop served a KLA dinner.

"I think they have been able to encourage a lot of young girls and boys across the country to go out and find their local dance group.

"They have had the time of their lives."

The group will not be resting on their performances though, as they are already back in the studio training for the British Championship.
