THE woman who died in a car crash on the M4 on Friday has been named as mother-of-two Georgina Elaine Coombs.

In a tribute released by Gwent Police, Ms Coombs' family said she would be "truly missed".

"Georgina was involved in a tragic accident, which has left two children behind and huge hole in the family who are truly devastated," the tribute read.

"Gina will be truly missed by everyone who knew her."

Ms Coombs died in a collision on the westbound carriageway of the M4, between Junctions 26 and 27, at around 10.40pm on Friday.

She had been driving a silver Vauxhall Astra. It was said to have been travelling in the wrong direction.

Earlier today a father-of-three spoke of his horror after narrowly missing the car minutes before the fatal crash.

The collision involved Ms Coombs' Astra and a black BMW.

She was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of her injuries.

A 21-year-old man from the Blackwood area, who was travelling in the BMW, remains in hospital at this time. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
