A FOUR-PIECE rock band from Abergavenny have released their latest single.
Sweet Ignitions – described as a band who have “never met an overdrive pedal they didn’t like” have launched their newest single, Neptune.
This follows their debut single, Holy Scars, launched in November 2018, which is popular among rock fans for its twin-guitar, feedback-drenched sound.

Sweet Ignitions were formed in late 2017, with their history stretching slightly further. Vocalist and guitarist, Matt Phillips, and guitarist and backing vocalist, Lino Malnati, were in the band Ruby Cruiser.
Rock ‘n’ roll rarely runs smoothly and the band fell apart before it could realise its full potential, with the two rockstars returning home to Abergavenny.
Over time they were joined by bassist Huw Thomas and hard-hitting drummer Ty Walker, forming the new band Sweet Ignitions, now signed with record label The Animal Farm.
They introduced themselves to the world with a DIY video for their hook-laden song Sweet Misery. They went on to a sell out their hometown show, after three months of touring South Wales.
Their songs bite hard but soothe with melodies that the listener will want to sing along with. Lyrically, the tracks deal with despair, confusion, loneliness and regret, but the feeling is anything but morose. This band believes in catharsis through the purifying effect of noise.
