GWENT Police Choir have a busy year ahead, with a St David’s Day concert and their 50th Gala Anniversary Concert coming up.

Their St David’s day concert, at Crane Street Baptist Church, Pontypool, will be on Friday, March 1 from 7pm.

They will be joined at this concert by the Linden Singers, with money raised from the performance going to Ty Hafan charity.

Following this, Gwent Police Choir will celebrate their 50th Gala Anniversary Concert on Saturday, March 23.

This will be from 7pm at St Julian’s Methodist Church.

Gwent Police Choir are preparing twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays, 7pm to 9pm.

The choir’s musical director, Rodger Appleby, along with piano accompanist Nicola Coker, are putting choristers to the test practising Italian.

The Golden Gala Anniversary concert will see the choir join well-known Welsh tenor Timothy Richards in the Italian prayer.
