THIS sunshine is a sign of one thing – Spring is around the corner, with plenty of fun in store.

Savoy Theatre, in Monmouth, has plenty of music, comedy and theatre lined up throughout March.

South Wales Argus:

It all kicks off on March 1, with the Blues Band bringing their 40th anniversary tour to the venue, which has a licensed bar, from 7.30pm.

Paul Jones, Dave Kelly, Rob Townsend, Gary Fletcher and Tom McGuiness will rock the night away, at what is usually a sell-out event. Tickets are £23.

South Wales Argus:

On March 8, the Dime Notes will swing into the theatre at 7.30pm, performing blues music drenched in 1920’s New Orleans jazz.

This small band have been described as “inspired” by the Sunday Times Tickets are £15 or £12.50 for under 16s and Friends of the Savoy.

From March 14 to March 16, Off Centre Theatre are bringing their production Weekend Breaks to the theatre, with shows at 7.30pm.

Join Martin Dawson, a promising academic and aspiring film writer, whose extra-marital fling has left him trying to patch things up with his wife and disapproving parents.

In a comedy about culture clashes, wine, wit and Whitby, Martin rediscovers his roots and what it really means to love your parents; even when you want to kill them! Tickets Tickets are £12.

On March 20, John Ilsley will be performing Dire Straits’ biggest hits with his own band from 8pm,

The former Dire Straits' member will also take part in a Q&A with former Dire Straits manager, Paul Cummings, about the band, giving guests intimate insight. Tickets are £22.

On March 22, Gary Delaney, who starred in Live at the Apollo and Mock the Week, is bringing his Gagster’s Paradise tour to Savoy Theatre.

This is the show’s first appearance in Monmouth, suitable for 14+ and jam-packed with hilarious one liners. Tickets are £17.

Finally, on March 29, Irish music and song legends, The Fureys, will take centre-stage from 7.30pm.

Renowned for hit tunes, such as I Will Love You, When You Were Sweet 16, and more, the band are known for stirring music which captures the public imagination. Tickets are £21.
