A WELSH rock band with more than 11,000 fans on Facebook are hosting a unique performance will raising awareness of self-harm ahead of their first album release.

Cardiff-based rockers, Holding Absence, are releasing their debut self-titled album on Friday, March 8, and celebrating with their first ever stripped back set in-store at Heads Above the Waves in Womanby St, Cardiff.

The performance will be from 6pm on Friday, March 1 - which is also international Self-Harm Awareness Day, and will be free entry, with a limited capacity of 50 spaces.

Entry will be first-come, first-served, with information and collections available at Heads Above the Waves.

The band said: “Our friends in Heads Above The Waves have been working tirelessly for the past six years to raise awareness of depression and self-harm in young people.

“They are a non-profit organisation that we are proud to support. We will be performing our first ever stripped back set at their shop in Cardiff on Global Self Harm Awareness Day.”

Holding Absence is being released, on March 8, with Sharptone Records.
