Jon Jenkins, from Malpas, was the only Welsh contestant in last year’s series of Great British Bake Off, making it until week seven of the competition.

Mr Jenkins said: “I’m thrilled to be supporting the Great Welsh Cake Off and looking forward to tasting the cakes. The popularity of home baking is wonderful to see and I’m sure the standard will be excellent.

“Action for Children’s Fostering Wales do a fantastic job of helping the most vulnerable children in South Wales find a loving home so whether you’re baking or eating the lovely cakes, I hope as many people as possible can join me at the Great Welsh Cake Off this year.”

“It’s a great event and all proceeds raised from our cake and cuppa sales will go to Action for Children Fostering Wales to help pay for a fun day out for our foster children.

“By supporting the Great Welsh Cake Off, you are helping to support some of the most vulnerable children in our area so come please come along and enjoy a lovely day for all the family.”
