A BUS dedicated to raise public awareness of cyber security is starting a huge tour.

Gwent Police announced the Cyber Safety Bus is launching in Cardiff Bay today, at 10am, before touring many destinations in Wales throughout March.

This huge tour will highlight the importance of cyber security, and the threats posed to businesses and individuals, with the specially equipped cyber information bus to tour all 22 unitary authorities in Wales.

This is funded by the Welsh Government and managed by Tarian, the Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU) for Southern Wales along with the North West ROCU.

The tour aims to raise awareness of cyber security for individuals, groups and businesses, delivering key messaging in line with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and the UK National Cyber Security Strategy.

The bus will be staffed by bilingual Police Cyber Protect Officers and other cyber security experts, plus partners such as Get Safe Online and the National Cyber Security Centre.

The Cyber Safety Bus will be at Newport Centre on Tuesday (March 5) from 12 noon to 8pm. On Wednesday (March 6) the Cyber Safety Bus will be at Penallta House, Caerphilly, from 12 noon to 3.30pm, then Woodland Road Sports & Social Centre, Cwmbran, from 4.30pm to 8pm.

Later this month, on March 28 the Cyber Safety Bus will be at Dell View Park, Chepstow, from 12 noon to 3.30pm before heading to Ebbw Vale Council Offices from 4.30pm to 8pm.
