IN 1980, under the Thatcher government, steel workers throughout the country downed tools in a strike over pay - a strike that would last 13 weeks. Today's South Wales Argus photographs show the picket lines and protests, rallies, marches and build up to the strike that led to a show of national unity in opposition to cuts to the industry.
