FORMER Countdown presenter Carol Vorderman was in the Winners Enclosure at Chepstow races on Thursday.

Mrs Vorderman’s horse, Subway Surf, had won the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Mares’ Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race.

The TV favourite cheered on the five-year-old that she part-owns with the Surf On The Turf syndicate, as it beat the favourite, Vienna Court, by five lengths.

Carole told Sky Sports Racing that the syndicate hopes to run Subway Surf at Cheltenham next month at its April meeting.

Alongside its regular programme of race meetings, Chepstow has a number of special events planned throughout the spring and summer.

The programme includes a Grand National Party Raceday with Britpop DJ sets, an Easter Monday Family Raceday, and an extra special concert from ska band Madness on Saturday, June 8.
