TWO men have been arrested following a reported stabbing outside a Tesco's superstore on the weekend.

A 22-year-old man was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital with an injury to the abdomen, which Gwent Police havesaid they believe was caused with a knife.

The victim is said to be in a stable condition following the assault which happened after 9.30pm on Saturday.

Two men, one aged 20 and one aged 48 have been arrested and are currently in police custody.

Officers are now trying to find a third man, who they would also like to speak to in relation to the reported stabbing.

Daniel Drew, 19, from Torfaen, is thought to have been in the area when the suspected stabbing happened, and police say he may hold vital information to the incident.

Police are connecting two other incidents to the reported stabbing.

At 9.30pm police say they got a report of criminal damage to a car on Osbourne Road in Pontypool.

A separate, racially aggravated offence was then said to have taken place a short while later at Peri Cottage restaurant in Pontypool.

It was following this that police say the 22-year-old man was assaulted as allegedly stabbed outside Pontypool Tesco.
