ENJOY West End at the Movies, for one night only this evening.

Four West End stars - Martin Dickinson, Jessica Hodge, Andrew Simeon and Vikki Bebb - will be taking centre stage at Riverfront Theatre, in Newport, from 7.30pm tonight.

The Newport audience are in for a treat, with youngsters from the Rob Shaw Academy, joining the cast on stage to perform several pieces. The academy, based in Christchurch, delivers professional Performing Arts training for children and young adults

Performer Andrew Simeon will be performing at this one-off event and said of the young performers: “Their vocals blew me away during rehearsals this week, so were excited for the Newport audience to witness this wonderful collaboration on a selection of musical numbers.”

Andrew Simeon from Swansea was a member of South Wales amateur dramatics and West Glamorgan Youth Theatre Company and was also a regular on S4C soap opera Liquorice Allsorts

He will be joined by Vikki Bebb who trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff after receiving a scholarship from Andrew Lloyd Webber. She was a member of the National Youth Opera Wales and one of the original cast members of Wales Millennium Centre’s Tigerbay.

Academy founder, Rob Shaw, said: “This is such a fantastic opportunity for the students. I’m keen to bring a professional level of training to young people of South Wales and give them the platform to improve their skills not only in singing, dancing and acting but also in other key life skills. It is important to me that I provide a high level of training and expose my students to the creativity and beauty of theatre"

The West End at the Movies will be jam-packed with the best songs from smash hit movies over the years, by hugely talented performers.
