AN AWARD-WINNING play about a time travelling doctor is touring in the near future.
Passionate Machine follows Doctor Rosy Carrick – who beat Jodie Whittaker to be the world’s first female time travelling doctor by months – on an incredible adventure through space and time.

This funny, yet poignant, sad, yet shocking, show debuted at the 2018 Brighton Fringe and won the ‘Best New Play Award,’ later winning the ‘Infallibles Award for Theatrical Excellence’ at Edinburgh Festival.

Following a London run, Passionate Machine will come to Newport’s Riverfront Theatre on May 23 as part of the national tour.
Ms Carrick must build a time machine, because her future self has already done so and is stuck 100 years in the past after a failed mission.
Unfortunately, her quantum physics knowledge is limited to the works of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Darting playfully between multiple narratives, this high-octane emotional performance explores the realities of time travel and self-determination – taking in Bowie, motherhood, #metoo and some most heinous hangovers along the way.
Passionate Machine is directed by Kate Bonna, Fringe First winner and recipient of Most Promising New Playwright award at the 2018 Off West End Awards for All The Things I Lied About.
