POLICE are investigating a burglary in Rhymney where someone stole a wallet and then used the bankcards.

The cards from the stolen wallet were used twice, say Gwent Police.

First, between 12am and 12:15am on Friday March 22, at Valley Heights Service Station in Dowlais, Merthyr Tydfil.

The card was then used in the Premier shop on Upper High Street, Rhymney around 7:15am on March 22.

Police have released images of two men they would like to speak to, as well as a car one of them was believed to be travelling in.

A Gwent Police spokesman said: "We would like to identify the men pictured in these CCTV images who were in both locations around these times.

"The man pictured in the image taken from Valley Heights Service Station is believed to have been driving a red, Vauxhall Astra; registration number CK66 GVO.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101, or direct message Gwent Police on Facebook or Twitter, quoting log 71 of 22/3/19. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
