POLICE continue to call on the public for help as they appeal for information to solve a brutal assault after a Six Nations rugby match and to find three missing people.

Six Nations weekend attack

Police are searching for two men who kicked their victim in the head on the night of the Wales v England clash in this year’s Six Nations rugby tournament.

The vicious attack happened on High Street in Blackwood, close to the Texaco garage, at around 11.10pm on Saturday, February 23.

Officers say the victim, who was walking with his female friend, was approached by two unknown men.

They punched and kicked the victim to his head, causing a cut near his eye which he needed hospital treatment for.

Gwent Police are investigating this alleged assault and are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen this incident take place.

They would like to speak to two men shown in a released CCTV image who they believe may be able to help with their investigation.

Demi Burn

Officers have renewed their appeal for information to find a missing 16-year-old girl who they say they are growing concerned over.

Demi Burn has not been seen at her home address in the Port Talbot area since Saturday, April 6 and it is believed she has been in Newport on a number of occasions since.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “Officers are concerned for her welfare. She is described as being 5ft 1in tall, of slight build with dark hair and brown eyes.

"She may be wearing black jeans and a red puffer jacket.

Stefan Covaci

Police are anxious over the welfare of a Newport man who was reported missing at the start of the month.

Stefan Covaci, aged 31, was last seen at around 9pm on Saturday, April 6 in the city’s Archibald Street.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “Officers are concerned for his welfare. Stefan is approximately 5ft 11in tall, of slim build with short black hair.

“He was last seen wearing a blue denim jacket, blue denim jeans, a green T-shirt and black shoes. He was also thought to be driving a black Audi A8.

“Anyone with any information relating to Stefan's whereabouts is asked to call 101 quoting log 524 of 10/04/19. You can also direct message the Gwent Police Facebook and Twitter pages, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Phillip Davies

Police are also worried about a 50-year-old man who went missing at the start of April.

Phillip Davies, from Abergavenny, disappeared on Tuesday, April 2 at around 11am.

A police spokesperson said: “We're continuing to appeal for information to locate 50-year-old Phillip Davies who has been reported as missing.

“Officers are concerned for his welfare.

"Phillip is approximately 6ft 2in tall, of slim build and with fair hair and a goaty.

“He also wears plug style earrings and is likely to be wearing jogging bottoms, trainers and a black sling on his right arm. Phillip also has distinctive colourful tattoos on his chest, arms and legs.
