GWENT Police are investigating a road traffic collision in Harrow Road, Newport, which left a girl with minor injuries.
At approximately 8.45pm on Wednesday, officers were called to the incident which involved a silver Volkswagen Golf and a group of pedestrians.
One of the pedestrians - an 11-year-old girl - was taken by ambulance to the Royal Gwent Hospital for treatment.
The vehicle allegedly left the scene of the collision.
A 29-year-old man from the Newport area was subsequently arrested and later charged with failing to stop following an accident and driving without due care and attention.
He is due to appear at Newport Magistrates' Court on May 14.
In a statement, Gwent Police said: "We are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the vehicle in the area at the time to come forward.
"Anyone with information, or dash cam footage, is asked to call Gwent Police on 101, quoting log 496 of 24/04/19.
