UPDATE 6.20pm: AN 82-year-old woman died in the collision in Usk Way, Newport, this morning, and the 45-year-old driver of the lorry involved has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family have contacted and specialist officers are supporting them.
The driver of the lorry, a man from the Bedfordshire area, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He remains in police custody while inquiries continue.
Gwent Police are appealing for information that could help with their inquiries.
They are particularly interested in hearing from motorists with dash cam footage who were in the area at the time.

UPDATE 5.54pm: Usk Way has now been completely closed between Emlyn Street and the Passport Office roundabout for around eight hours, as police investigations of the scene continue.
Southbound traffic is being re-routed via the slip road at Friars Walk, or Emlyn Street.

UPDATE 3.43pm: Investigations are continuing into this morning's fatal collision, and Usk Way remains closed in both directions from the Emlyn Street junction to the Passport Office roundabout.
Granville Street is open as far as Lidl and the Masala Bazaar - both are accessible - but the junction with Usk Way is closed.
Traffic remains congested in surrounding areas.

UPDATE 2.35pm: A person has died following the crash this morning, the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust has said.
UPDATE 2.05pm: The AA is reporting that traffic is congested all the way back through Newport on to Malpas Road.

UPDATE 1.40pm: Usk Way remains closed in both directions from the Emlyn Street junction to the Passport Office roundabout.
A Gwent Police Collision Investigation Unit is at the site, and officers are carrying out a detailed search (see above) of the Granville Street/Usk Way junction.
UPDATE 11.50am: The road closures are causing delays to the following bus services - 30, 35, 36, 37 and X74.
UPDATE 11.40am: Usk Way remains closed in both directions between Emlyn Street and the Passport Office roundabout following the incident earlier this morning.
Congestion in the city centre is currently severe, with queueing traffic from Granville Street to Frederick Street.
Traffic is affected between the Kingsway Centre and Pill.
A diversion is operating between Emlyn Street and and George Street Bridge.
A CRASH involving a car and a pedestrian has closed the busy Usk Way in Newport in both directions.
The incident happened outside the Castle Bingo complex at around 9.45am.
Emergency services are at the scene and the road is likely to be closed for some time.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area. The closure is between the University of South Wales Campus building - the junction by the Emlyn Street car park - and the Passport Office roundabout.
Granville Street is also closed in both directions.
Police are redirecting traffic off Usk Way at the Friars Walk slip road near the City Footbridge.
Gwent Police and other emergency services are currently on route to deal with the incident, and motorists are being asked to avoid the area for the present.
