A GWENT road has just reopened following a serious incident involving a pedestrian in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Pontygwindy Road in Caerphilly at around 1.40am today.
A pedestrian was taken to hospital following a collision with a car and police confirmed they closed the road to deal with a 'serious incident'.
Road closures remained in place for a number of hours but Gwent Police say Pontygwindy Road is back open, however a small section of the pavement remains closed.
The pedestrian has been taken the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
