A GRANDFATHER of nine, involved in a crash at the Coryton Interchange last month, has died in hospital.
76-year-old, Gwilym Jones, sustained serious injuries in the accident which took place shortly before 3am on April 26.
His family, saddened by the loss, said: Gwilym Jones was born in Abertridwr, Caerphilly, on January 7, 1943.
“He married Audrey Jean Jones on October 27, 1962. Gwilym had three children, Michelle Davies, Glenn Jones and Kevin Jones.
“He also had nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
“Gwilym passed away on Thursday, May 2, in the Intensive Care Unit of the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. He will be sadly missed.”
The crash involved Mr Jones’ silver Citroen C3 SX and was travelling westbound along the M4 before leaving the motorway at Coryton.
South Wales Police have asked anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash-cam footage to contact them on 101 quoting reference *148554.
