WESTERN Power Distribution’s safety superhero Pylonman is preparing to put in a powerful performance at this year’s charity Kolor Dash event.

The muscle-packed power distribution firm’s iconic mascot dropped in at St David’s Hospice Care, Malpas, to check out preparations for the annual event staged at Newport Tredegar Park.

WPD are sponsors for the fun event which sees participants cover each other and often everything else within reach with psychedelic powdered paint.

This year’s Kolor Dash is on Sunday, May 19.

WPD’s corporate communication officer Karen Welch said: “Kolor Dash is such a wonderfully fun event which we’re more than happy to support. I was particularly pleased to be able to bring Pylonman along this time and for him to really get involved in promoting this event.

“As long-term supporters of the charity we are keen to do as much as we can to help support St David’s Hospice Care which does such brilliant work throughout the community.”

St David’s Hospice Care community fundraiser Skye Lewis, who helps organise the Kolor Dash, said: “Every year we get absolutely superb support for our Kolor Dash from WPD. Pylonman really got stuck in when he came to see us at Malpas-I’m now looking forward to getting my own back at Kolor Dash at Tredegar Park on May 19!”

An added attraction this year is the fabulous Gwent musical collective The Sisterhood are ready to rock this year’s Kolor Dash in Newport.

The multi-talented band, who performed at last year’s inaugural Portstock music festival at Tredegar Park last year, will repeat the action at the same venue this year but this time for the Kolor Dash event.
