UPDATE 8.12am: THE congestion approaching the roadworks near junction 24 (Coldra) eastbound has easd, though there remain speed restrictions in the immediate area.
Elsewhere on the motorway around Newport, traffic is moving freely in both directions at the moment.
TRAFFIC is heavy on the M4 eastbound this morning, particularly between junction 25a (A4042, Newport) and junction 24 (Coldra), approaching the roadworks.
