LABOUR’S prospective parliamentary candidate for the Vale, Belinda Loveluck-Edwards raised £567 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support at her World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Saturday, September 28.

Shoppers visited King Square, Barry, to buy cakes to raise money for the cancer charity.

Ms Loveluck-Edwards said: “I want to say a huge thank you to everybody who donated to a cause very close to my heart.

“At times the wind and rain were awful, but eventually the sun shone and people queued for cake and to make donations.”

“I was humbled to speak to Maria Mackay who has recently had treatment for cancer, but thanks to our NHS is doing fine.

"People are so generous and £567 will be a great help to Macmillan’s support for people like Maria affected by cancer,” Ms Loveluck-Edwards said.

Macmillan’s senior fundraising manager for the Vale of Glamorgan, Rebecca Parke said: ‘It was fantastic to see so many people come out and support Belinda with her World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, and despite a rainy start we even managed some sunshine.

"The generosity of everyone who supported the event is amazing and that money will help Macmillan to continue to support people across the Vale of Glamorgan who are living with cancer.
