FROM the Archive this week features a photograph of the Barry West End Labour Club, in St Nicholas Road, Barry.
Barry West End Labour Club was originally built as an impressive private dwelling, but was purchased in September 1927 for the sum of £1,400 to convert into the Barry West End Labour Club.
By 1930 the membership of the club was 240.
A very successful local club which over the years has helped worthy causes and provided entertainment for Barry residents.
The Barry & District News would like to thank Cllr Shirley Hodges for the photograph and information.
If you have an old Barry photograph you would like to see included, with information about what it depicts, email sha@barryanddistrictnews.co.uk
