AN ACCIDENT on the eastbound M4 caused heavy tailbacks around Newport this morning.
One lane was been blocked due to a three-vehicle accident between Junction 24 A449 (Coldra) and Junction 23A A4810 (Magor Services).
The vehicles were moved on the hard shoulder, and the carriageway has now been cleared.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said no injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
She said: "A three-vehicle road traffic collision took place around 6.35am on the M4 eastbound between Junction 24 and Junction 23A.
"No injuries were reported."
