Division 1
WITH most of the league fixtures postponed because pitches were unplayable, only one game in each division went ahead, writes Bob Cypher.
Monmouth Town Reserves welcomed leaders Iscoed Tafarn and replaced them at the top thanks to a 4-2 victory.
Tafarn boss Ashley Edinburgh admitted in a post on social media that his team were lucky to get away with a 4-2 defeat.
“Town battered us from the start and could have scored 10,” he wrote.
His opposite number Richard Thorp was equally complimentary about the visitors.
“It was another good, close match,” he said, although he conceded Tafarn’s post-match food outshone that provided by the hosts.
“They always win that contest,” he quipped.
Town’s goals were scored by Sam Oxley (3) and Lewis Davies, while Tafarn’s marksmen were Jermaine Allen and David Rees.
Meanwhile, in Division 2, Caldicot Town beat Tintern Abbey 5-0.
