THE Kaiser Chiefs will be playing live after racing at Ffos Las Racecourse near Llanelli next May.

The concert will take place on Saturday, 23rd May and follows the success of the Madness Race Night in May this year, when more than 8,000 people packed into the enclosures.

The Kaisers formed in Leeds in 2000 and are probably best known for their hit singles I Predict A Riot and Ruby.

Further details of the Ffos Las show are available on the racecourse website and social media pages.

We are in discussions with various agents for a major music act to play at Chepstow Racecourse on Saturday, 6th June. Watch this space!

One band we have confirmed for Chepstow are The Dualers, who will be special guests on Caribbean Night on Friday, 24th July. The nine piece ska and reggae band hail from South East London and recently reached number 11 in the album chart with Palm Trees and 80 Degrees. Early bird tickets priced at £20 can be booked from the racecourse website.

We have already announced From The Jam will be playing live after racing on Grand National Day, Saturday, 4th April. The band, who feature the Jam’s original bass player Bruce Foxton, will play all the Jam hits, including Going Underground, Strange Town and A Town Called Malice.

The seven-year-old hurdler If The Cap Fits will always be a special horse for Pembrokeshire jockey and Ffos Las Racecourse ambassador Sean Bowen.

The gelding gave Sean the first Grade One winner of his career earlier this year in the Ryanair Stayers Hurdle at Aintree and won again on his seasonal re-appearance in a Grade Two race at Ascot last Saturday.

The combined prize money for the two races was in excess of £150,000 for owners Paul and Clare Rooney, so it’s fair to say If The Cap Fits has been a great servant to the yard of trainer Harry Fry.

Sean, 22, has become stable jockey to Harry Fry and will ride the majority of the stable’s runners during the winter. It’s one of the best jobs in racing and it’ll be fascinating to see how the next few months pan out for a jockey many believe is a future champion.

Sean’s brother James, who is attached to the yard of Nicky Henderson, also rode a winner at Ascot on Saturday when Valtor was successful in the opening race of the day for leading owners Simon Munir and Issac Souede.

This Thursday, Sean and James will both be in attendance at the Welsh Horse Racing Awards at Chepstow Racecourse. The year’s leading jockey, trainer, owner, hurdler, flat horse, chaser and other award categories will be announced in front of an audience of around 200 guests.
