THE Abertillery Live Music Alliance (ALMA) will be holding its second punk promotion night on Saturday, March 21, at the Dolls House.
ALMA was set up by music fans to encourage a wide range of bands to visit the area and to introduce the local community to a wide range of artists and music.
Headlining the show on will be Unholy Alliance. The band began in Grantham under the legendary punk and metal band English Dogs. After both versions of the band ended, the four members decided to form a new band that would acknowledge their roots but also be different, so they became Unholy Alliance. Their sound blends old-school punk with metal and alternative rock.
Vocalist Adie Bailey said: “This will be our first appearance in Wales and we’re looking forward to seeing everybody there. A raging set awaits.”
Birmingham’s Suckerpunch will be the main support and they are also making their debut Welsh appearance.
Vocalist/guitarist Neil Suckerpunch said: “We’ve heard all the stories from our mate’s bands that have played the Dolls House and we knew we had to get down there sharpish. It’s ace to be part of this especially playing with our mates Unholy Alliance.”
They will also be joined by Cardiff alternative band System of Slaves and Valleys punk duo Blunt Trauma.

Kristian Johanson of ALMA said: “We’re really pleased to be bringing Unholy Alliance and Suckerpunch to Abertillery for our second event, the first visits to Wales for both bands, as we look to give local fans the chance to see bands from further afield. But our events will also give a platform to Welsh talent and it’s great to also have System of Slaves and Blunt Trauma joining us on March 21.”
Tickets are available now for £5 through www.fatsoma.com/the-dolls-house or on the door for £6.
