A HEROIN user from Pontypool died after taking a "large amount of drugs", an inquest has heard.
Michael Cornford, 46, was staying at a friend's house on September 27 last year while she went out for the night.
When she returned the following day, she found Mr Cornford on the floor at the bottom of the stairs.

She called an ambulance but realised Mr Cornford was dead.
The inquest at Newport Coroner's Court heard evidence from police officers who attended the scene, finding used syringes and prescription medicines.
A post mortem toxicology report found cocaine, amphetamine, morphine, and ethanol (alcohol) in Mr Cornford's body.
David Regan, the assistant coroner for Gwent, recorded a conclusion of a drug-related death, saying the drugs Mr Cornford had consumed would have had a depressive effect on his nervous and respiratory systems.
