Deputy Chief Constable Blakeman, said: “It was great to meet our new officers at Rodney Parade – the second of 19 classes that we’ll be welcoming to Gwent Police.

“The PEQF represents a new style of training for us, and the students have been working incredibly hard – I am so proud of them, and proud that they have chosen to join Gwent Police.

“They came in to the passing out parade looking incredibly smart, but also with an eye on the future. A future where they serve, protect and reassure our communities in Gwent. I wish them all the very best for their future with us.”

Mr Cuthbert, said: “I was delighted to attend the passing out parade for 29 new Gwent Police recruits this afternoon.

"Passing out parades are an incredibly important day in a new officer’s career and I am always honoured to be able to join the recruits, and their proud family and friends, for this very special day.”
